Since 2006, I have kept my feet planted firmly within the automotive industry with a primary focus on electronics and accessories. I have worked in many areas covering car audio & accessory installation, repair and development, telematics & fleet management, oem and aftermarket product management & development to name a few.

As an apprentice electronics service technician, my early years were spent primarily repairing car amplifiers, head units and vehicle security systems and this lead to installing alarms and audio systems on the side for extra cash. A short time was spent doing work for friends, family, even local car yards and in 2010, VJ Mobile installs was born. The name VJ was derived from VinylJunkie Stickers & Graphics, my original side hustle which I still maintain today however in a very limited capacity.

Although a keen car audio enthusiast, when I wasn't spending my weekends covered in fibreglass and sawdust, I found myself getting more calls for work on performance cars installing gauges, boost controllers and other accessories. I quickly developed a desire to work on fast cars and in 2012 decided to drop the accessory installation all together and focus on learning engine management systems while keeping the audio as a personal hobby only.

Due to increasing demand, Hotwirez has evolved from after hours and weekend work to a full time workshop wiring tame to wild street and race cars from some of Melbourne's most respected workshops. I treat every car as if it were my own and have a genuine interest in seeing these cars perform to their owner's expectations.
